When you outsource your IT needs to NETCORE, you form a partnership with a company that knows how technology can help — or hinder — your business’s overall success. We have extensive experience in the technologies that form the framework of any successful IT environment.

Operating Systems

An operating system manages the hardware and applications on every computer in your business — server or desktop. NETCORE has hands-on experience with the many business-centric operating systems available and the expertise to help you choose the best fit for your needs.

Server operating systems manage, store and distribute information throughout your IT environment — email servers, backup servers, file servers and more. Beyond their core functions, the best server operating systems focus on security, guarding data from unauthorized access, and application delivery to desktops and other servers.

Desktop operating systems are designed for end users, emphasizing ease of navigation and application use — multimedia support for graphics-rich applications, peripheral device support for cameras, USB drives and speakers, and application management for users working in multiple programs at once.

Upgrading for business success. Keeping operating systems current lets your business protect its environment from external threats, patch newly discovered vulnerabilities, use the newest hardware, and gain features that improve productivity and the user experience.

IT Security

IT security is the umbrella term for layered protection of your IT environment from internal and external threats. Because the nature of the risks changes constantly, it can be difficult to identify and maintain a flexible, defensive plan while running your core business. NETCORE can take care of IT security so you don’t have to.

The threats most corporate environments face include viruses, worms, trojan horses, rootkits, spam, spyware and hackers — and companies in many vertical markets are now held accountable for the security of consumer and corporate data through government regulations, policies and contractual obligations.

The plan. NETCORE recommends every IT security plan consist of three components:

  • Policies — written rules for user behavior and business operations, starting with an Acceptable Usage Policy that outlines what users can and cannot do on their systems.
  • Risk assessment — evaluating external and internal threats to your company, assets, data, reputation, clients and partners, so your IT team can prevent breaches and prioritize IT investments.
  • Defense in depth — layered security with multiple products at different locations on your network, ensuring overlapping protections keep proprietary data secure.

NETCORE has more than a decade of experience helping businesses in most vertical markets create, implement and maintain comprehensive, customized security plans.

Business Applications

Business applications are the programs that let your end users access and manipulate the data in your corporate IT environment. Choosing the right ones improves productivity and provides a technological edge — and with so many to choose from, an experienced partner matters. Applications fall into two major categories, and both can be hosted on individual machines, virtualized on servers, or delivered from the web as SaaS.

Server applications distribute data and services to end users and do the heavy lifting of data crunching — centrally storing and dynamically sharing client data, documents and databases. Popular examples include Microsoft Dynamics CRM for client and sales management, Exchange for email, SharePoint for collaboration and document management, and SQL Server for storing, processing and analyzing corporate data.

Workstation applications are what your users touch daily — locally installed productivity software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations), specialized programs such as financial packages or AutoCAD, and web-based applications delivered through a secure portal.

NETCORE has worked with numerous clients and application vendors, and can help your company select the applications that best meet its unique needs.

Virtualization

If your organization hasn’t yet implemented virtualization, it soon will — and beyond servers, desktops, applications and storage can all be virtualized. Virtualization stretches your IT budget by creating non-physical copies of applications, workstations and servers on existing machines.

Server virtualization. Traditional physical servers often use only 5–10% of their hardware capacity; virtualizing typically allows consolidation of around 10:1. The result: reduced hardware costs, less space, lower energy use, easier server setup and disaster recovery, and less hardware and software to maintain.

Desktop virtualization. 90–95% of PC resources sit idle at any given time. Separating the desktop OS and applications from the physical PC can reduce cost of ownership by up to 40% — users reach their files and applications from any device over any connection, while data and applications stay centrally controlled.

Application virtualization detaches applications from the operating system for greater compatibility, manageability and portability — programs stream on demand rather than being installed on each host, improving security and support while reducing maintenance and hardware strain.

Vast virtualization experience. We are certified with Citrix, Microsoft and VMware, with numerous successful engagements — from technical and business analysis and assessment through proof of concept, pilot deployments, production rollouts, training and support. Hosted VoIP

Hosted Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is an affordable way for your business to have a Fortune 500-caliber phone system without investing in costly hardware or paying expensive monthly service fees. Unlike traditional phone service — with purchased or leased phones, wiring, dial tone, service charges and long-distance fees — Hosted VoIP is simple and affordable.

Why it’s better:

  • Reduced monthly fees — a negotiated, predictable flat fee that includes local and long-distance calling, especially valuable for multi-state offices and international clients.
  • Reduced operating costs — phone system maintenance is included in your contracted monthly payments.
  • Decreased infrastructure costs — hosted voice runs on your existing computer network; no separate voice network needed.

What it does: unified communications that integrate your phone system with corporate email (voicemail in inboxes, email in voicemail boxes); hassle-free routing that links multiple offices into one system regardless of location; and embedded continuity that keeps phone communications running through power outages by instantly routing calls to another location or cell phone.

Mobility

Mobility solutions are any technology tools that let business be conducted away from your primary site — and they are among the easiest solutions any business can adopt to stay competitive in a 24/7 business world.

Remote offices. Whether secondary business sites or employees’ home offices, remote locations need secure, established access to the primary site where critical data lives — via dedicated VPN connections between site firewalls, point-to-point connections, SharePoint servers or a company extranet.

Remote workforce. With employees constantly on the go, give them access to important data wherever they are: real-time email, contacts and calendars on smartphones, laptops and tablets; online access to sales and CRM applications so mobile sellers can close opportunities rapidly; and secure collaboration tools for project managers to share information safely with partners, vendors and clients.

NETCORE has used mobility solutions since it opened its own virtual business doors. With more than a decade of mobility experience, we can help you choose the best solutions to connect your remote offices and mobile workforce.

Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is an on-demand IT service model that lets you lease the IT resources you need without the commitment of ownership. Because services are provided over the internet, they can be reached securely from a workstation, laptop or smartphone anywhere.

Key characteristics:

  • Affordable — vendors charge only for the resources used, on flexible terms that meet your business needs
  • Scalable — services fit organizations of any size, unrestricted by user count or data volume
  • Self-service — vendors maintain the hardware and solution while your business manages its data
  • Multi-tenancy — your data is kept separate and secure through application architecture while sharing underlying resources
  • Redundant storage — multiple physical sites store multiple copies of data, suiting businesses that need high availability

Key benefits: no out-of-pocket infrastructure costs — no additional servers, hardware or networking equipment to buy — and simple support, with vendors servicing, upgrading and patching the solution for you.

Types of solutions include managed email that works at your site and on mobile devices, email archiving with a clear audit trail, secure web gateways that protect your network from malware, CRM platforms with customizable customer management and sales tools, and hosted finance and accounting that handles payroll, expenses and taxes.
